Welcome to the CKPG Auction Help Desk

In this help section you can find answers to frequently asked questions.

If you have a technical question that is not addressed here, then please send an Email to
Borealis Internet: support@bcgroup.net

I've registered, but didn't get a confirmation email.

Confirmation emails are sent out immediately after registration. If you cannot find the email then make sure you check your spam filter or junkmail folder.

How do I get started?

In order to bid on an item, you will first need to register. You only need to register once. Click on the "Register" Button, and enter your personal information. All fields are required except the credit card fields. You will need to use a valid e-mail address, as we will e-mail you a registration letter, which you will have to open and click the link enclosed to activate your account.

You can register only once with your e-mail address.

That is, if two people in your household both want to bid separately on the auction they must register separately with different e-mail addresses. You cannot register twice (different usernames) using the same e-mail address.

Once you have registered, you can begin bidding!

How do I find items that I might like to bid on?

There are two methods to find items. You can browse through the auction categories to see if there are any items that are of interest to you. You can also enter a keyword in the search section, which is available throughout the site.

How do I bid?

Click on the item of interest to you and follow the directions on the screen. Please note that by placing a bid you are making a contract between you and the seller. Once you place a bid, you may not retract it. It may be illegal to win an auction and not purchase the item. In other words, if you don't want to pay for it, don't bid!

Can I retract a bid once it has been placed?

No, please bid carefully, because you cannot retract a bid once it is placed.

Wish List

You can create a list of items you would like to buy or are interested in. All the items will have this link('add to my wish list') so you can add them as you see them to your list.

This will make it easier to track the items you are interested in.

Five Minute Rule

Items in the auction will remain open until bidding has stopped for five minutes, even after the items' time has expired. Remember to keep refreshing your page if you are watching items closing. Please note that if no one bids five minutes before closing, the item will then automatically close.

When we near the closing time on each item, there has to be five minutes of bidding inactivity on that item for it to officially close. If for instance the item closed at 11:00pm and someone put in a bid at 10:59pm, the close time will be extended until 11:04pm. If someone then put in a bid at 11:02pm, the new close time would be 11:07pm and so on. Once five minutes have passed with no bidding then the item is sold to the highest bidder.

What if I'm the successful bidder on an item?

If you are the high bidder when the auction for an item closes you will receive an e-mail.

What do I do once I have been notified that I am the winning bidder?

If you are the high bidder you will receive an email with instructions on how to proceed.

How do I know when item are expiring?

Items that are closing soon will have their days and time remaining printed in red.

Watch for these items as they will close when their time is up(unless people are still bidding on it - see Five Minute Rule).

Items will also have a link to 'Bidding History' - when you click on this link you will see who bid on the item and for how much (username and amount is displayed only).

Do any charges get added to our auction bid if we win?

As per Federal and Provincial Tax laws, GST & PST will be applied the same way it would be if your were to purchase the item from the supplying store.

Do you want to know what I think about the auction?

Definitely. If you've got any suggestions for our next auction, please contact us through the website!
